Yeah, this got cheap fast.
Nothing to do with quality - game's awesome. I just feel like an idiot as I own the special edition 3DS XL. Kinda wish I'd bought the Majora's Mask edition then bought this deal!
Pretty sure Aonuma just straight-up slapped Xenoblade Chronicles X across the face.
Possibly, but you're missing the fact that MS deployed their big exclusives in time for Christmas 2014, while Sony spent most of the year buying time with smaller boutique games and second-string first parties. Now the roles are reversed.
"I haven't seen any mention of an actual game or objective that ties the build/ride/destroy ideas together."
For me this is the key, really. Without a key objective in mind, I see myself getting a bit bored after a while.
But still a great price either way, mind.
The lack of VR is utterly... macabre. I can't think of a concept more tailor made for the platform.
Blink and you'll miss it. Thought this article was a comment when I first saw it. Tiny.
Still, hey, it does highlight some smaller games that deserve a shot!
Just do it. The 3DS is a godly handheld, though if you're an SRPG fanatic, I'd have to recommend the Vita as a superior machine for you in all good conscience - there's a wider array of great legacy S/JRPGs available including the PSP's back catalogue.
@TheImprobableMulk: Yeah, all true.
I suspect the PC version will still be around. PC multiplayer communities stick around for years, though you might find yourself playing against very experienced veterans!
"Can't be doing on relying on other players so much in order to enjoy it."
You could if Evolve learned anything from Natural Selection 2 or Primal Carnage. Niche asymmetrical multiplayer downloads with a passionate cult audience.
But no. Hell, at least Destiny gives you a lot of stuff to do.
I think that a lot of reviewers literally forget that games cost money. They've been getting promo copies for so long that the fact that games require us to spend £54.99 and upwards doesn't even cross their minds.
Meaning lots of 9s and 10s for games essentially reviewed as being free.
When reviewers get promo copies long enough, they can forget that games actually cost real money.
"Swagalicious" - the overabundance of plastic tat that you really don't need, yet bizarrely must own.
That's very cheap though. VERY cheap.
@acekaze: I don't mean to patronise you, but that argument is broken.
League Of Legends is free to play.
Evolve already costs $60+.
Thanks for the advice! :D
EDIT: "Go with your account name @Blues Cowboy" - Haha, awesome!
"Balance: RRP reduced from $60 to $25."
Wait, sorry, I just imagined that. They need to fix it though!
Nice, need to get another one of these at some point!
Not sure about colour, though. Do the red and blue ones look okay or are they a bit tacky close-up?
Yeah, I can't imagine Squeenix will want to wait too long. Just long enough for everyone to play Uncharted 4 to death.
Could be - the PS4 is certainly has more big exclusives in early 2015, so perhaps this is a way of making some extra headlines.
Not complaining, mind.
Yeah, for £299.99-£329.99 with two games (at least, often plus peripherals) it's getting kinda hard to resist. Wish the HDMI-In didn't have crippling input lag or I'd run my other consoles through it!
Us gamers always forgive and forget. So long as we can buy games, we'll roll over and put up with anything after a little bit of moaning.
Sorry, but it's true. It sucks, but publishers know it.
That said, vongruetz is right that Rogue's sales are a good thing. Quality game sells well, whodathunkit?
